AWANA – Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed

awana-logoWednesday evenings at 6:30 PM (During School Year)

AWANA is an international children’s program offered by First Baptist Danville as another means for partnering with adults in raising up and training their children. The AWANA name comes from the Bible in 2 Timothy 2:15 which says: “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.” AWANA meets every Wednesday of the month throughout the school year, and is divided into three segments: Game Time, Handbook Time, and Counsel Time.

If you have not previously registered, a form can be found here . Please print it out and bring it with you!

Game Time

Game time offers club attenders the opportunity to participate as team members in physical activities that can help them develop team spirit, good sportsmanship, coordination skills, and self-confidence.

Handbook Time

This time consists of interaction between individual clubbers and their leader. Each clubber gets a handbook to work in. These books are divided into sections of various activities, including Bible memorization. By reciting about 2 sections each club night, with no more than 2 helps/section, your child should be able to complete the handbook.

Counsel Time

Counsel time includes singing, announcements of upcoming events, contests, and age-appropriate instruction from the Bible covering topics that will introduce who Jesus is and how we can grow up in this personal relationship.
