Sam and Cindy Baker
Sam Baker
(Mr. B)
God wonderfully saved me when I was just 4 years old. Throughout my life I have always had the freedom knowing that God loves me and keeps me within His care. I married Mrs B many many years ago and we have seen God’s faithfulness in many wonderful ways. We had 3 children who are now young adults who make me very pleased to be their dad. I love working in the Middle School and it is my desire to see them grow in their relationship with Christ and enjoy all the blessings He has for them.
Cindy Baker
(aka Mrs. B. or Mama B.)
I was born and raised in a Christian home, the youngest of four kids. My dad was a preacher and we were always active in our local church. I was saved at the age of 4 when I asked my mom how I could know for sure I would go to heaven and she showed me from God’s Word my need to repent of my sin and turn to Christ as my Savior. As a teenager, I was a rather rebellious kid and got involved in many things that were not honoring to God. Thankfully, at the age of 19, I came back to Christ and have desired to fully serve Him with my life since that time. I married my best bud in 1984 and God has blessed us with 3 amazing kids and a great son-in-law. We worked with the Jr. High/Middle School for nearly 8 years when our kids were involved, then took several years off to minister with adults. The Lord let us back into the Middle School in 2010 and we look forward to training and encouraging these fantastic kids for many more years.

Amber Flater
I grew up in First Baptist Danville and I just can’t leave. I love everything about it, the sermons, the worship, and how we are constantly growing, changing and seeking God’s direction. As a new Jr. High leader, I really enjoy playing games with the (pre) teens and can’t wait to dive even deeper into events and activities this summer. Some things I enjoy are hanging out with my husband, Seth, cooking, and party planning.

I grew up going to Bethesda Baptist church. After attending Tri-West high school (where I first met Amber), I attended Wabash College, and I now have my math degree. After I graduated in May of 2010, I proposed and Amber and I were married this past November. We jumped into the Jr. High that month. I love getting to know the guys and teaching lessons. Amber and I are learning SO MUCH and have a lot more to learn about this age group and how to teach. We can’t wait for this summer to get outside and really see a side of the Jr. Highers we might not know yet. Thanks for this serving opportunity!
