A little about me
I grew up just outside Cincinnati, OH. I attended Cedarville University, married Tyson in 2003, and graduated in 2004 with a degree in Organizational Communications. After graduation, we moved here to Danville and started as youth leaders with the high school. It has been so exciting to see how the Lord has directed us over the past few years. We’ve been blessed with 2 wonderful kids, Calla and Liam. I help out with the family business, doing office work and am very fortunate to be able to take the kids with me.
In my free time, I love spending the weekends at Lake Cumberland with our family, visiting family in Ohio, shopping, hosting Girls’ Nite, and wedding coordinating.

Through the life He has blessed my husband and I with we continue to serve Him in as many ways as possible and we love staying involved in the lives of the young people of FBD.

Favorite Verse
Col 3:12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. A little about me
I have been married for 15 years to Shawn Larsen. We have 2 kids, Jasmine is 12 and Cole is 9. We live in Danville, but our hearts are in Colorado! In addition to being a wife and mother, I am also an ultrasound tech at Westside Physicians for Women.
My favorite vacation spot is Colorado, or wherever there are mountains. I love to hike, camp, be outside, and read.
The greatest joy in my church ministry so far has been working with the Sr High group. They are so loveable, and are in great need of someone to just ‘hang’ with that can give them direction. It has been a great pleasure for me to work with these kids and totally consider them my own!
My favorite verse
My favorite verse usually depends on what season of life I am going through at the time. One of my all time favorites is 2 Corinthians 4:16-18.
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and MOMENTARY troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them ALL. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is ETERNAL.
I also love John 17. That chapter is Christ praying to God on MY behalf, over 2000 years ago. It blows me away to think He was pleading for me right before He was going to be crucified.
Books I recommend
The last book I read was the Twilight Series (Team Jacob). I am currently doing the Esther study by Beth Moore, whom I absolutely love, so that takes up a lot of my reading time. One of my favorite books is Captivating by Stasi Eldredge. I also enjoy Jon Eldredge, Francine Rivers and Randy Alcorn.
I absolutely love music
My favorite artists… hmm there are so many of them. Let’s start with Creed, Jars of Clay, Third Day, Jack Johnson, Colbie Calait, Lynard Skynard, CCR, anything from the 60s and 70s, Shawn McDonald, Sanctus Real. This by no means is the full list, but you get the idea!

While we finished up our schooling, we lived in Lebanon, IN where we became leaders in Grace Baptist Church’s youth group. Upon graduation, we returned to Danville to start our family and join the team at FBD. I am currently working as an attorney.
Favorite Verse
Gal. 5:1, 4-6
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. . . . You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. But by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the righteousness for which we hope. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.
